The Project
I’ve wanted to do this project for years: Collaborate with my many talented friends to create a mini showhouse of sorts. My idea is that people could make a single item (or multiple items) rather than do a whole room.
I have a dollhouse and would love to have you contribute to this project in the form of handmade, vintage, repurposed or thrift store treasures (under $10). The house will need furniture, rugs, art, wallpaper, curtains, books, bedding, and more. Scale will be approximately 1:12 (one inch = one foot), give or take.
I will give the house some basic (or not so basic, depending) updates like exterior paint, perhaps some shingles and flooring, and so on. I welcome help on that as well.
What will happen to the dollhouse after it’s done, you ask? That’s a very good question and I’m still figuring it out. Maybe it is displayed somewhere as a collaborative art project, or perhaps it gets raffled off with proceeds going to a good cause. I’m open to suggestions. I didn’t want the “what happens to it” to prevent me from getting started on this project I’ve wanted to do for so long.
This whole thing and how it works is a work in progress. Bear with me.
